Pinterest

I have to say, Pinterest is awesome. I love being able to save things to a board specific for my wedding and go back to it and add to it. It really helps generate ideas and collect things I like, without printing everything out.

I have 37 Pinterest boards. Being a Graphic Design major and my love for crafting, it is easy to make so many boards. Hey, it's a great source of inspiration.

So here is some wedding inspiration...

Check out more inspiration on my Pinterest page! Feel free to repin. Other sources for inspiration: The Knot, Wedding Magazines (the ones I've found most helpful, is the ones specific to the city we plan on getting married in), and R & H (Wedding Planning book FREE Templates).

What do you use (or did you use) to find wedding inspiration?

Location, Location, Location...

Oh boy! I have realized that this part of the process is overwhelming and SLIGHTLY stressful. All I dream about is wedding locations. It's awful! I will be happy when we pick a location that works with a date that works for us.

We have a list of over 20 locations we are interested in and have contacted. It is hard to keep them all straight anymore. Matt suggested a few weeks ago that we start a spreadsheet. Um...he's onto something there. So that is exactly what we will do this weekend, make a spreadsheet and start eliminating ones we know don't fit our personality.

Are you married? Was this part stressful for you too? Did you have your ceremony and reception in the same location, or different? What time of day was your Ceremony?

We're Engaged

I may as well start at the beginning, well the beginning of our engagement. A quick little back story, Matt and I have been together for 9 years. I told it's quick. ;)

As told by Lacey
October 9, 2012, it was any other day, sort of. Matt was celebrating his "25th" birthday. During lunch, I ran around town and brought Matt lunch and his favorite, Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. I dropped it off at the studio and went back to work (he was teaching at NDSU).

The evening was normal as well. At 8:30pm I went to Matt's lyrical / contemporary dance class and after 10pm we left the studio. Of course I didn't eat dinner and I was hungry. So I went to pick up some food quick before heading home. When I got home Matt came out to help me with the sodas (not unusual).

As they we were walking up the front steps Matt stopped me and said "We should kiss, 9 years ago today we shared our first kiss right here." I think "Oh he is being so cute right now" and kiss him. After we shared our kiss, I turned to walk inside and Matt stops me again. Matt "You know you said you didn't know what to get me for my birthday? Well..." (gets down on one knee). "Will you marry me?" I stumbled back a little and started to crying. Matt still waiting for answer says "Don't drop my Pepsi." I finally gather myself and say yes. By this time he is on his feet and removing sodas from my hand and hugging and kissing me.

The hard part, it was 10:30pm (if not later), we had to wait till morning to share the news with our families.

(Now this story could be told a little different depending who is telling it.)
